FREE ART CAMP: RIVERARTES CAMP Sponsored by Owensboro Grain Company

JULY 5 – 8
Sponsored by Owensboro Grain Company
The theme of this camp is inspired by the exhibition RIVERARTES V, scheduled at the museum July 30-October 23, which will feature images and maquettes of public art by sculptors of local, regional and national reputation.

This camp also explores the idea of the “Kachina” which is small sculpture that coveys aspects of Southwest Native American traditions, culture and spirituality. Art Camp students will assist in the creation of public art based on the “Kachina”. At the conclusion of the camp this monumental sculpture will be installed in the museum’s Ryan Sculpture Park.
