Owensboro Art Guild 63rd Annual Juried Exhibition

Eighty artists from Kentucky and surrounding states competed for more than $5,000 in merit and purchase awards to be presented at the Owensboro Art Guild’s 63rd Annual Juried Exhibition during a reception, Saturday, March 8 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Owensboro Museum of Fine Art.

This year’s jurist, Beverly Bruntz, is a contemporary painter working in Kentucky. After graduating with a Master of Art from California State University, Fullerton in 1996, Beverly worked for several years in commercial art. In 2009 Beverly relocated from Yorba Linda, CA to the bluegrass region in Kentucky.  Since 2009 she has been active in the Indiana Plein Air Painters Association and is currently serving as president. From 73 entries, Bruntz juried the exhibition to fifty-eight 2- and 3-dimensional works and selected eight merit awards.

The exhibition will continue through May 10 and will be open during regular museum hours which are Tuesday–Friday from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday & Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. The Owensboro Art Guild is Kentucky’s oldest continuing visual arts organization operated by artists and sponsors a variety of exhibition opportunities throughout the year. In addition to the annual juried exhibition sponsored by the Owensboro Museum of Fine Art, open exhibitions, wherein all entries are displayed, are also organized by the guild.
